Paul has won an Emmy Award & Peabody Award (think Pulitzer Prize for broadcasting) and nominated for a second Emmy Award for his work on “The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart.” A graduate of Georgetown Law and former Wall Street Lawyer and Investment Banker, Paul met Jay Leno while on Wall Street who hired him to start writing jokes for “The Tonight Show.” Not long after, Paul left Wall Street to pursue a career as an entertainer, successfully becoming a national headlining comedian and actor, as well as show creator, producer and writer - winning major awards along the way.
Paul has made over two dozen television appearances on such shows as his own Comedy Central Special, “The Late, Late Show,” HBO, “The Tonight Show,” Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” Showtime, “Late Night w/Conan O’Brien,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” NBC’s “Late Friday,” Comedy Central’s “Dr. Katz,” VH1’s popular clip shows, “Katie Couric” and “Bethenny.” Paul was featured in “The Daily Show” segment, “Second Opinion,” in which he skewered the medical profession playing an HMO representative with a less than sympathetic mindset. Paul created, executive produced and starred in the Emmy-Nominated, HBO Sports web series, “Got No Game with Paul Mecurio,” which takes a satiric look at the world of sports through original scripted shows and one-on-one interviews. A segment from the series entitled, “Race In Sports,” was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Outstanding New Approaches - Short Format category. Paul co-created, executive produced, and hosted his own topical sports comedy show, “Sports Central” for Comedy Central. Paul has been seen in a scripted half hour role opposite John Cleese in the ABC sitcom “Wednesday at 9:30”, and starred in the Barry Levinson/Tom Fontana production, “The Joke Show.”
Paul is a regular satirist on “Hannity,” CNN’s “Newsroom,” “Greta,” “The Dylan Ratigan Show” and “Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld.” Paul is also heard by millions of listeners nationwide in his recurring segment, “Paul Mecurio’s Image Makeover” on the nationally syndicated morning radio show, “The Bob & Tom Show,” which is syndicated to over 150 markets and has over 4 million listeners.
